Representation in music videos

Any representation is a mixture of

1.The thing itself
2.The opinion of the people constructing the representation ( does the writer/photographer/presenter like the person or not?)
3.The reaction of the individual to the representation (your personal reaction)
4.The context of the society in which the representation is taking place (the place you live in and their  social ideas.)

Jay Z has been represented to us in the media as a bad man with all of his album covers close ups of his face. He is never smiling and always looks angry without emotion although it is very unlikely that he would be like this behind closed doors this idea is reinforced when he is seen with his child this shows him as a family man who smiles and is happy and not angry

                Star Image

Astars image becomes a readily recognised sign that is used in many different media forms.
Stars can use the fact that their image has meaning by allowing it to be used for advertising purposes.
A pop-star is a manufactured image and does not correlate to persons personality behind the image.

the little mix is represented to us as in the media as strong female characters who don't need any males and only need each other  that is their star image how they are seen by the world and this is good for them but also a positive image for them to have which will make people want to by their albums
