Textual analysis of pop music videos

 Technical conventions

Band shots, shadows, mise-en-scene reflects atmosphere such as the facial expressions if they are smiling it creates a happy atmosphere, equal division of shots upon band members

Bright lighting- puts them in the spotlight to show them as the main character being dominant and superior

High low angles to show the superiority of the audience and inferior of the person in shot , special effect lighting

Close-ups- this is to show the artist as the most important person in the scene

Animation- this is to show the affect of the magic making it more realistic this is to keep that senses of realism

How far do you agree that the two videos you have studied are conventional for the Genre?

From viewing Little Mix's music video black magic it is evident to see many pop conventions. An example of this is the fast pace editing this is seen throughout especially at the beginning  the affect of this is it creates a happy feeling as it is very fast 

Additionally, within the vamps' music video 'somebody to you' bright lighting bright colours/ the mies-en-scene reflects the atmosphere, which is conventional to pop music. An example of this is
