How do the audiences use music videos to construct their identity?
Audiences interpret music videos to construct their identity by using the style of the people in the music video, the clothes they wear this can be seen in little mix music video black magic when they are geeks they are wearing baggy cover clothes, but when they become popular they are wearing tight revealing clothing. This is going to construct the idea that the audience has to be wearing tight revealing clothes to become popular.
Another example, of this is seen in the Vamps music video Somebody to you they use the way they dress and the location to construct they identity making them be seen by they fans as a down to earth just like you group.
How do the audience interpret the representations within the music video?
Audiences interpret the representations within the music video by the amount of multiculturalism, when they see little mix they might think of it as quite inclusive as there are two white British females and two mixed race British females. but also can be seen as not inclusive as they are all heterosexual females but to the target audience girls aged 12-16 years old they would look more at they way they are dressed compared to when they are perceived as geeky, to when they were seen as popular there school is also seen as inclusive as there are lots of different ethnicities appearing throughout the school. In the Vamps music video somebody to you also gives the audiences interpretations such as the way that the vamps are dressed which gives the audience an image of the vamps being laid back and just like them with no or very little celebrity problems such as paparazzi and the location shows them to be on a holiday and enjoying themselves just like the audience would making the audience feel a connection to them as people
